Local Geology

Our local and regional geology is particularly interesting. Having grown up in New England, I still marvel at how much of the local geology out here is visible at the surface. You can drive around the northwest and see remains of lava domes, lava flows, ancient lake beds and so on. If you pay attention to the news, you can find lectures fairly regularly on some topic related to local geology. Photography is so much more fun now that I know something about the local geology.
