Lions is an international service organization of 1.3 million men and women in 45,000 clubs in 202 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.

Lions started in Chicago in 1917 and established it focus on eye care when challenged by Helen Keller in 1925 to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness”. While Lions have taken on a number of other projects over time, eye care continues to be our number one priority.
